Creatures of Doom, pt. I

The world is full of amazing creatures. Over the last 650 million years, evolution has been developing all sorts of strange multicellular organisms. Some of these creatures are or were so deadly, so unkillable, so overwhelming that they can only be called...

Creatures of Doom!

We start, dear reader, with the creature that inspired the name of this post. Its name is Brontoscorpio anglicus.

Brontoscorpio lived back in the Silurian period, 445 - 415 million years ago, where it preyed upon our primitive vertebrate ancestors. As a scorpion, this aquatic creature already sends shivers down most of our spines, but it gets worse dear reader. Brontoscorpio could grow to over a meter in length, with a stinger slightly smaller than your fist. Even more frightening, this creature had one more ability mercifully wasted in a time when animal life was largely restricted to the oceans.

Brontoscorpio could travel on land, too. This dear readers is why, upon first learning of Brontoscorpio, I declared them to be "Giant Scorpions of Doom!"

With that I leave you for now. More tales of the more terrifying products of evolution are coming. See you then, dear reader.
